You usually get what you pay for in just about anything in life and fishing guides are no exception. Don’t settle for a guide service that sends you out with any kid off the street with a boat or some part time fly by night guide service that charges less. Come out with Getting Bit Guide Service and know that you are getting a guide that has spent countless hours learning the water and refining techniques so you will have the best chance at having an enjoyable and successful day on the water. We use mostly G. Loomis rods and Shimano reels and we do not skimp on our terminal tackle so you will have the best chance at landing that trophy fish when you do hook into it.

Cancellations and Rescheduling

For all bookings I require a $100 deposit. If you cancel more than 15 days before your booking date your deposit will be refunded or put towards a future date that we both can agree upon.

If the rivers are unfishable due to rain or snow melt, or if the weather is too sketchy to get out, I will contact you and we will try to reschedule. If nothing works out for your schedule your money will be refunded. I will not take you out if I know the river conditions are too bad or if the fishing is just down right dead, I want your experience to be a memorable and enjoyable one.

What to Bring

The only things that I would suggest you bring is appropriate clothing for the day, a valid fishing license, and sunglasses.

If needed we can recommend lodging in the Grand Rapids, Newaygo, Baldwin, Ludington, and Manistee areas.

Online fishing licenses can be purchased here https://www.mdnr-elicense.com/
