Getting Bit Guide Service

My name is Greg Knapp and I am the Owner and Licensed Guide of Getting Bit Guide Service. I have lived in West Michigan for all of my life. I have been haunted by the draw of fishing since a very young age, I started salmon fishing with my father around the age of 5 (early 1980s) and I have been hooked ever since. When I was younger I practically lived down on the Grand River waiting for the runs of salmon and migratory trout to show up at the 6th street dam.

As I got older I would spend as much time as I could probing the waters of the Muskegon, Pere Marquette, Big Manistee, and Little Manistee rivers. I have put in countless days pursuing these fish and have traveled to places such as New Zealand, Washington State, and Canada to find that next piece of water. I have always loved to explore new water and it killed me to not know what was around that next bend in the river, this has led me to know the rivers on the west side of Michigan intimately. Although I fish all different methods for these fish, my passion for the last decade has been with Centerpin Float Fishing. I have spent the better part of my adult life trying to perfect this method. I am always experimenting with different baits and techniques to bring more fish to hand, I find it boring and less productive to get caught up in the same daily routine.

I am a very patient and laid back guide, I love to see the smile on a youngster or anyone's face after they have had an arm wrenching day of catching big fish. I have a wealth of information and knowledge about the Great Lakes fishery and I hope that I can share it with you.
